The start of a new academic year brought a heartwarming highlight to this year’s enrollment season. A volunteer team, self-organized by South African international students, stepped up to assist Chinese freshmen with their registration process. This initiative not only provided practical support for the new students but also added a meaningful chapter to China-South Africa cultural exchange.

Since June this year, the South African students have been studying at Zhengzhou Electric Power College. Though their time on campus has been short, they have quickly integrated into campus life, familiarizing themselves with school procedures and immersing themselves in Chinese culture. Leveraging their knowledge of the campus environment and enthusiasm for Chinese traditions, these students volunteered to guide the new Chinese freshmen, offering assistance and support throughout the registration process.

During the enrollment period, the volunteer team provided practical services, helping freshmen navigate registration procedures and answering questions related to campus study and life. Through these interactions, the freshmen not only gained valuable information but also experienced the warmth and friendliness of their international peers, fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures.

This initiative showcased the South African students’ enthusiasm for cultural exchange while highlighting the school’s commitment to campus internationalization. It not only strengthened friendships on campus but also served as a bridge for deeper people-to-people understanding and exchange between China and South Africa.

It's looked forward to more activities of this nature are held in the future to enhance communication and cooperation among international students, enrich campus culture, and promote mutual understanding. Together, these efforts contribute to building a harmonious and inclusive campus environment.
